A Friday the 13th wedding at Ever After Farms Peach Barn already had a little personality built into the date. For Kimberly and Vanessa, however, getting to that day required more patience than anyone expected.
Their original wedding was also planned for a Friday the 13th. Then, just a week before the celebration, a hurricane came through Florida and forced them to postpone everything for several months. When it was finally time to choose another date, they did something wonderfully fitting—they chose Friday the 13th again.
This time the wedding happened, although Florida contributed another surprise: a genuinely cold winter day. None of it seemed to matter. At Ever After Farms, Kimberly and Vanessa were surrounded by the people who had come to celebrate not simply a wedding, but a relationship and a commitment they already understood well.
Their grown children were part of the day, standing beside them and showing their love and support. Their friends brought that same energy. This was a community gathered around two women they knew, loved, and were genuinely happy to see marry.
Those relationships are what we remember in the photographs. There are beautiful details, portraits and ceremony moments, but there is also laughter, affection and the unmistakable ease of people who feel completely at home with one another. Even the little boat ride became part of the story—a quiet moment for the newlyweds after everything it had taken to finally reach their wedding day.
A hurricane may have postponed the celebration, but it certainly didn’t stop it. Kimberly and Vanessa simply waited, chose another Friday the 13th, gathered their people again, and got married.
